Hello all,

Over the 4th with a lot of people out at a small "block party" I started a spur-of-the-moment petition for us Hunter's Glen area residents to sign. I plan on using this petition to show the City our thoughts so that hopefully they can consider them in their vote. I think that it will be very important if we can show support of the neighborhood for a plan - especially if the plan would allow Benson Street to be a cul-de-sac. I will have this petition at my house between now and Sunday evening - hoping that you'd like to get your voice heard by stopping by and signing the petition. It would be my plan to hand this petition to the City Planning Commission on Monday 7/9 when they have the public hearing to address & vote on this rezoning request. Below is the wording on the petition - it is purposely short and sweet (lack of time to prepare it and I didn't really want to get into the many details and concerns people may have about other parts of the plan), so you'll know what you'd be signing your agreement to. Please stop by my house (Chet Stumpf, 14937 Benson, 913-685-8854) to sign - or call me and I'll even bring it by to you. Also, be sure to tell your neighbors about this since they may not be on this e-mail list or know about this petition but would like to also be heard - I'd like to get every house along Benson and its tributaries to sign this!

The petition says:
"I/We homeowners of Hunter's Glen, adjacent to 151st & Antioch, are:
  (1) In support of a quality CP-0 office zoning WITH Benson as a Cul-de-sac, and
  (2) NOT in support of a quality CP-0 office zoning WITHOUT Benson as a Cul-de-sac."
  (Signature; Date & Address)

Attached is a copy of the current plan which recently has been changed to a CP-0 zoning request (offices) instead of the previous CP-1 (retail & office) plan. The attached Plan stills shows Benson as a cul-de-sac; but, the City is opposed to Benson as a cul-de-sac since its resulting length would be contrary to their rules - 1000 foot maximum cul-de-sac length. I'm hoping that if the City approves this rezoning they will include the stipulation that Benson be cul-de-sac compared to extending Benson through to 151st street which would obviously significantly increase traffic all along Benson - thus my petition.

Questions/Comments? Please stop by to sign the petition and tell your neighbors too.

Thanking you in advance for your support,

Chet Stumpf
